Statement of support for GFest
It gives me great pleasure to once again provide my support and congratulations to gayWise for coordinating the GFEST lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) Arts Festival. This event has gone from strength to strength and it is invaluable in giving a forum for members of London's diverse LGBT arts communities, amongst others, the opportunity to promote and celebrate their work.
The contribution of London's LGBT communities is immense. From the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, Pride London, LGBT History Month to the wonderful Gay Icons Exhibition and the National Portrait Galley – these have all added to the richness of London's cultural landscape. GFEST has been very much been part of this: developing exciting arts projects that also have strong social and educational merits.
I wish the festival every success and hope it attracts Londoners from all communities.
